PS Waverley is the world’s oldest sea-going paddle steamer, a unique reminder of Scotland’s proud shipbuilding heritage. Since entering operational preservation in 1975 the Waverley has carried over 6 million passengers and visited more than 60 ports around the UK.

Scope of work
Purpose
Xcentuate was engaged by Waverley Steam Navigation Company in late 2023 to provide fundraising support for the organisation. With significant annual maintenance and refurbishment costs it is hoped that fundraising can help support these costs and help keep the Waverley sailing for many years to come.

Fundraiser​
Our early work has focused on identifying relevant targets, creating a funder friendly information pack and making initial approaches. Our early focus is on securing funds to support capital expenditure for Waverley’s winter maintenance programme and for a planned major boiler refurbishment at the end of 2024.
Recommendations
Our hope with this client is that our short-term support will transition into a long-term commitment by the organisation to bring fundraising in house, something that will help sustain Waverley for many years to come.
