Consultants to the Visitor Attraction Sector

successes
As an Xcentuate client, you will benefit from the experience we have gained through successfully working with venues across the United Kingdom, United States and Continental Europe. Some of our recent success stories follow.
The Xcentuate team leverage their skills, experience and international network to deliver significant value to visitor attractions and their suppliers in an increasingly dynamic and challenging environment.

Supporting the international expansion of a US-based museum retailer

Between 2011 and 2015 Xcentuate supported the European expansion of one of the world’s largest museum retailers. With an initial presence in Portugal and Germany we led the European business development into the UK, Denmark and France. Through our direct involvement the business saw an increase in European sales from €500,000 to €8,000,000 in just over two years.

Tay Cities Deal

We have supported five different Tay Cities Deal projects over the last five years with work ranging from the undertaking of feasibility studies, economic impact assessments, through Outline Business Case and Single Stage Business Case development. The largest of these projects was a £13,000,000+ Comic Centre. In the majority of these projects our work has supported associated fundraising efforts and successes.

Facilitating strategic planning

One of Europe’s largest and most successful science centres engaged us to work with their leadership team to advance their master planning process. Over a series of sessions we were able to help them navigate the process and capture the voice and aspirations of a multi-departmental team.

Supporting the supply chain

We have worked with a number of organisations based outside the UK/EU to bring their services here. These projects have included major touring exhibitions, new hardware/software solutions, digitally immersive experiences and the new approach to retail operations previously mentioned. We have a truly global network of visitor attraction leaders and suppliers and it makes us very happy when able to bring the two together.

Providing interim leadership/change management support

We were engaged to provide Executive Director level support for a small independent charity operating two five star venues with collections of international importance. Over a period of three years we led the organisation from cyclical annual trading losses to, initially, a breakeven position and subsequently its first operating surplus in over a decade. Our wider work included a major rebranding of both museums, which continue to serve them today, record levels of annual attendance, delivery of over £1,000,000 in new funding and a fully invigorated conferencing and events business.
